Art is basically my life.
"Why do you like to draw?" People ask me. Well I do not simply "draw" the way most people see it. I create, I speak, I feel, and I express with the strokes and tool marks of a pencil, a pen, a brush, possibly even a mouse. I do not create because I can. I do not create because it is expected of me. I do not create for a self made image. I do not create for the world. I do not create for the people in it.
"Why?" They ask me.
What I long to answer is, "Because I want to. Because it is my passion, my life, my soul. Because it is who I am. I do it for me, myself, and no one else."
But I don't BECAUSE it is my passion, my life, my soul. So instead I respond, "I don't know." Because words aren't enough, the "drawing" that they see, or I should say don't see, are the words of my heart which I cannot find any other way to express with justice. If someone could interpret my art down to the very first mark I had made upon the blank canvas, they would know me truly, and fully, to the very bottom of my soul. As scary a thought that might be, I think it might be refreshing to have a person understand me completely even if it were for just one moment, because sometimes I'm not even sure I understand myself.
I really enjoy painting more than drawing. I do a lot with water color and I've started to get into oils. Most of my work though is pen/ink and colored pencil. I have really started to delve into my work and I use it now more than ever as a way of expression. Even the smallest of doodles, or practices are some part of my soul in one form or another.
I am an art student still which is indeed stressful work, so I don't upload often...
